The Bears looked to turn around their season this past Monday against the St. Louis Rams. While not blowing them out, Chicago did manage to grab a decisive victory with a 23 to 6 win. They will need a similarly effective performance this coming Monday when they take on the Dallas Cowboys. With the NFL odds putting the Bears at +3.5 against America’s Team in the game, they have a good chance of covering.
They will need an inspired performance from one Jay Cutler to have a chance, however. He has had an up and down season and quite often gets flustered when the game is not going his way. He needs to keep his cool in the game and find a way to break down a Cowboys secondary that has been playing solid the past three games. Getting the ball moving on both the ground and in the air will be essential if Cutler wishes to make the Bears 3 and 1 rather then 2 and 2 by the end of week 4.
Similarly, Brian Urlacher needs to keep the ball grounded when dealing with the Tony Romo led Dallas offense on Monday. The Boys have not been as effective this year as in previous ones, but they can blow the game open with long yardage passes when given the chance. Urlacher absolutely must help his team pressure Romo into making game changing mistakes throughout the match up. If not, it could be a very grim day in deed for the Chicago Bears and their fans.
Getting into a good rhythm on both sides of the ball is extremely important for the Bears if they wish to put up a fight this coming Monday night in primetime. If they cannot, the Cowboys will almost certainly be leaving week 4 with a win.
