Coming off an important victory over the Vikings this past weekend, Chicago hopes to keep their momentum going against a dangerous Seahawks team. The Bears could, however, be without many of their key pieces for the game. Devin Hester, Matt Forte, and Charles Tillman all were injured last week and were forced to leave the game. The Bears were also hit with injuries to their offensive line, as Lance Louis is out for the year and Chris Spencer is also expected to miss this week’s game. The offensive line has been a target of criticism this season, and rightfully so. Chicago quarterbacks have been sacked 3.2 times per game, good for 30th in the NFL this year. With the added injuries, as well as starter Chilo Rachal walking out on the team, the line could be in for more trouble this week.
As for the skill position players, Devin Hester is rumored to be out for this week with his concussion, meaning someone else will take his role as punt and kick returner. Tillman can play through his foot injury, but will probably end up being a game-time decision. Losing Tillman would be a big blow to the Bears’ defense, as he repeatedly makes big plays including intercepting passes and forcing fumbles. The Bears defense is certainly not a one-man show, but he is one of the more important pieces to their defense. Forte is also questionable for this game, and his absence would mean Michael Bush would have to step up and perform as the starter, something he showed he is capable of in Oakland, as well as in spot duty this year. Last week he rushed for two touchdowns after Forte went down, and would not be a big drop-off from Forte. The injury reports will become official this Sunday, but stay tuned for further injury news and enjoy your week!
